Ripples of My Interest

Everything is still,
Everything is static,
For now...
Melting the spirit
Rejoice the nature
Feel the static
Feel the dynamic
No...
They are not motionless
They are vibrating
Too negligible to be mentioned
Too negligible to be noticed
It's their natural frequency
The frequency of vibration
The static vibration
Emitting unforeseenable electromagnetic waves
Interfering and clasing one another
Forming a wavefront that is
Unseenable
Untouchable.

The surface is still,
Water particles vibrate
in their position,
Forces around interfere,
Causing a shade of water interference
Ripples after ripples
Touching the stillness
Waking the asleep
Passing the motion
From the middle of the lake
to the surface of the whole lake
And when it touches its boundary
It reflects back
Bouncing endlessly
Passing the energy everywhere
Until once again
It would come to its end.
But when will the motion stop?
Who is to stop the inertia?

Nodame Cantabile,
The latest drama I've watched
After the success of its drama
It has finally released its Final Series
"交响情人梦最终章"
The story is about one couple
Who are estethically intoxicated into music
Are met with their life challenges.
But one thing ponder my mind,
What's the difficulty with their love?
Is that a must to be equal to be lover?
In this drama, Nodame is in loved with Chiyaki
But Chiyaki is a very successful orchestra conductor
Nodame, though endows with the gift to play piano
Would only deem to be the unpolished crystall
That would only shine upon shedding off the dust and dirt
She tried very hard to catch up Chiyaki's step.
Is that necessary?
Must love be that complicated where both must match each other?
Wouldnt it be good if each having their freedom to pursue each dream?

The drama has inspired me to write this blog.
It's not only about the drama,
But about what I got from it.
First of all,
it has definitely trigger my old interest,
Returning my world back to music
Where musical notes swirling around
The five lines of music sheets
Divine symbols emanating around the notes
Making absolute ornament as accessories
Beautifully articulated tempo and volumn
But without a good waiver,
The music is dead.
I do admit I'm not up to the standard
Starting to learn piano since form 2
Starting with contemporary piano instead of classical
I dont earn the skill and technique of a competent player
I do envy those who are endowed with the skill
But please dont get misunderstood.
I do not desire to hear the thunderous applause,
to be taken by the hand of the conductor
Acknowledging the standing ovation
Receiving bouquet
Reading the glowing pres notices.
I merely want to match the professionalism
to play as fluently
to memorise as completely
to express the composer's intention as deeply.

I could not sit down and play a Chopin ballade
or a devilishly difficult piece of Liszt with consummate,
almost contemptuous ease.
That requires talent?
I guess I could never do it in a thousand years
With hard work? Perhaps
I used to tell myself that I could if I practised more.
Now I merely recognise that gift in others.
I hope one day I could, too
To satisfy my satisfaction
As I enjoy a wide variety of composers
and would like to extend my repertoire.
I would love to hold each piece however long, in my memory
And to be able to think exclusively of the interpretation
as my fingers automatically translated the score into sound.
That must be only a dream.
But the drama has spiced up my interest
Again to touch the world of piano
Perhaps I could work on the simplistic score beforehand.

The drama also taught me the meaning of perfection
There would be no perfection
But near perfection might be achievable
And we must do our best to this stage
To strike for perfection in everything we do
As we may not know whether we have the chance again or not
And if we have it,
The next time,
We must do even better to outweight the past
Stretching our limit
To go beyond our limit of the past
Over our boundary
To reach another realm
Bypassing what we think we are
It may sound simple,
But it comes with price
A price that not much could pay
The power to fight ourselves
Something that is really abstract
How many of us could do that?
How many of us could really say no
To the lure of desire?
The seven sins?
It requires great courage
Be brave and bold
At some be sensitive to tiny details
Again,
A balance must be achieved.

The drama surrounds mostly love
The theme of love
But it depicts a great complexity
Changing oneself to suit for another
To reach to their world
To be a person to whom he likes
Definitely it is a process of love
Where unconsciously
Each of us are changing
But without our realisation
Gradually losing what we originally hold
What's the outcome? Good or bad?
It seems to be no justification.
Sometimes it may be true,
We cant control as what we thing
The nature will take its course
Therefore,
Although I disagree with the theme
But I do agree it is a process of love
This remind me of a song I used to play
"Love changes Everything".

PS: Worth time to watch. Funny and entertaining. Enjoyable music too! ^_^

Spice of Ginseng for my Holidays

Day by day, holidays is drawing near to the end.
Now it's lesser than 20 days,
to be exact, 16 days.
So what should I do within this 16 days?
For the past few days
I've been staying in my house
Doing absolutely nothing
but browsing net and watching drama
Somehow I feel life is just too boring
Yes it is holidays
And it is envisaged that
Holidays is to relax
But is that all?
What could I do else to relax?
By doing nothing at all?
Please,
repeating the same thing everyday
would just kill me.
I'm not a person who could do work repeatedly
I prefer tasks which are flexible and dynamic
Static is just not my cup of tea.

Hence, I went out today to find me something
Something that would not let my holidays goes miserably
I went to Mid Valley, The Gardens and KLCC
Wandering around and shopping here and there
Got me some cheap shirts but no pants,
Mid Valley was full of people
because of JUSCO Day
Different faces and shapes and sizes lurking around
Making me quite headache
as I dislike the atmosphere when there are a lot of people
The Gardens was nice but then nothing to see.
KLCC is just nice.
Average people, possibly all had rushed to Mid Valley
crazily collecting every merchandise they thought worthy.
Then finally,
in Kinokuniya
I GOT MYSELF 5 NOVELS!
It's been long that I do not hold my hands on novel
And now it should be the time,
To bath myself in the fantasy world
Where magical extraordinare would mesmerise my imagination
This is where my heart, one of, lies
Reading always brings pleasure
A sense of fullness to my life
Someone just call me to wake up from the fantasy
Start banging on the realist fiction
Thriller, Crime etc,
But I just cant get the adrenaline to that
So now, here they are,
the insulin for my brain
For the following weeks,
But I'm afraid I might just finish them within no days
I just need to work on them slowly to get my holidays pack
before the buzzling life starts.

I might consider to write a review to each of these books,
If I have nothing to scribble in my blog.
At the moment, I'd not list the books here.
Doesnt matter to you? Yes I know.

青蛙撞奶 ,会撞出什么火花?

Just a few days back, I come across this chinese idiom from my friend -"敬老尊贤",
At that moment, inspiration stroke me inexorably,
Due to the scarce of time I would not be able to scribble them here,
But now, it's the time for me to vend my feeling on these 4 chinese words.

"敬老尊贤" denotes that the youngs must respect the elders,
We are taught of this moral ethique since we're young,
Possibly dated back even to Primary One.
We are taught that the elders are the treasure in every homes,
They provide valuable life experience and entertainment to us,
They are the one to bring us up, shelter us, feed us, protect us,
Whatever you can think of, they're there to do their best.
Since they brought us up and contributes to what we are today,
It would be us to repay for what they have done,
It is a gratitude and a duty to act in vice versa,
What comes around must go back,
So whatever they give us,
It is our duty to return,
It is the love that we owe them.

While it seems appealing to us that this is the fact,
But I have a different perspective.

Firstly,
It might be true if it is against parents,
But what about the others who are older than us?
Are they included within the definition of the idiom?
The general meaning I've given above is overtly general,
Let's have a narrower dissect of the idiom.

敬 - Respect

老 - Old, But I'd prefer to define it as those who are older than us, but the word is still very ambiguous as it does not define the ambit of the age group. One may wonder how about those older than us even by few seconds? Must it be calculated in term of year?

尊 - Respect

贤 - Intellect or wise in certain manner

Therefore, the ambit seems to be quite wide! The idiom could convey 2 different messages.
a. Respect those older and respect those who are wise - 2 separate entities
b. Respect those who are older and wise - 2 attributes on 1 single entity

Which one does the idiom really refer to?

If it is (a), then the meaning is very wide indeed as the person who is older need not to be wise to be respected while those who are younger need not to be older to be respected. Either way, it works for the idiom. However, there then would arise a conflict.
What if these 2 categories of people come into conflict?
Who should be respected?
The elder? But why?
Isnt the idiom also require us to respect for the wise?
Shouldnt the older then also respect to the wise?
Vice versa, shouldnt the younger who is wise also respect for the elder?
Ideally both respect each others would clear the problem, but does it always happen as such in reality?
I often observe situation where the elders exploit their advantage to surpress the others.
For example, cut queue just on reason they're older.
Does the idiom really work this way?
I'd say no.

If it is (b), then definitely there would be another problem.
Does it mean that those who are older than us but do not possess the wisdom would not be needed to be respected as compared to (a) ?
This may be justifiable. Take an example, those who switch on the radio loudly when the youngers are studying. Do they earn the rank to be respected? I'd say no.

Secondly,
What is the ambit of the idiom? Do we need to adhere the idiom at all circumstances whatsoever? Of course the best answer would be "It depends" thereby setting one in the middle of the answer, neither to the extreme. I'd agree to this answer as situation must be observed first. Sometimes we dont even need to pay respect to some unsrupulous elders. They're not worth the cent, sometimes!

Thirdly,
Moral is a subjective issue. Who is the one that set the standard for right and wrong? The Gods? Metaphysical it might be true. But the reality seems that we would need to cast that aside first. I'd say moral is decided by we ourselves. We are the arbiters to decide what is moral and what is immoral. But who are us to decide this? What are we to consider the other is right or wrong specifically the issue targeted to the idiom. Therefore, it would seem to be public interest issue. The majority says that it's moral then it would be moral? Is it always the case? It seems not! The society has moved forward to democracy and we have our rights! Our authentic human rights that we're all equal before the law! Stop telling me that this postulate has often been violated. The comparison we're facing here is between ordinary members of the society. Between one ordinary citizen with another ordinary citizen, not in comparison with those who have special powers. Ok, fair enough we could continue. Since before the law we're equal, arent it justify our position? We're on the similar rank, no one is higher nor lower than another. So, where does this idiom fit into? Moral is different from law? Moral contributes to the rise of law? Possibly. But what govern the society? Moral or law? Perhaps they are interrelated.

Forthly,
How would the idiom reconcile with "孔融让李"? This idiom simply means that the elder would need to give in to the youngers. This is definitely clasing with "敬老尊贤". Therefore, it's a conflict of moral. A conflict that it is what we ourselves create. Putting aside parents but in comparison between ordinary citizens, which is to be reconciled? Does the elder must be respected at all time? My opinion is that, the elders are not always to be respected. Sometimes they are not worth for us to even consider the word "respect". Generally, we are all equal and the word "respect" should only apply to those who really could earn our respect. Certainly for a stranger there need to be a degree of respect. But the attribute would lost if the reality proves that he or she doesnt deserve it!

Above are all my personal thoughts and I am not intended to influent on anyone or to create any impact to anyone. I welcome constructive comment and also if you are free, you are most welcome to voice your opinion. Sorry for any error in grammar or typo.

The Blizzard Across my Face

It has been long till I couldnt remember when did I last get my hands on computer video games. Since it is holidays time, I might as well go get some fun from it! I decided not to download because the speed here is utterly slow like amoeba. The time when it's completely downloaded, it would be the commencement of my course then. So, fair enough, I went to Game Store and bought 2 DVD games from Harry Potter's Series.

I'm quite excited because I knew the game would fill up my holidays well but the reality turns out to be contradictory. I cant even install them. I have no idea whether it's my computer's problem or the disc's problem or even both! I tried to manipulate different variable by using others computers. It turns out to be.... installable but not playable while mine is not installable at all. Soon I get fed up of it. It's really ruined my holiday mood and getting more and more frustrated. I feel like splittin the DVD into many pieces and throw my laptop from 16th floor to nowhere. Well, this holidays started not as smoothly as I thought.

This reminds me of Doraemon's quote "便宜没好货" = "Cheap Stocks Never are good stuff". In the end of the day, if I were really annoyed by it, I would sure to buy original one, not that I dont have the money to buy them! Urgh.... for god's sake, what am I going to do for this holidays? Reading my books all over again? That would be crazy!

The Cheesey Meatballs of my Sphagetti

We're on a race with time!
When we feel that we're ahead of time,
they will overtake us without realising it!
We're on the move,
It's no time to halt!

This is the feeling of a standard LLB examination.
We have to complete 4 questions within 3 hours,
minimum 4 pages full for each question,
but it is just a barely pass,
unless the English demand is excellent!

9 December 2010,
My last paper has ended,
signifying the starting of my holidays!
For just three weeks,
Neither long nor short,
Maybe averagely suitable.

Reminiscing back the days,
I have come a long way.
Brickfields Asia College,
the place where I started my legal education,
has since shaped me and changed me
Equipped me with the relevant skills and knowledge
And now it's the end of my First Year,
Starting new to be a Second Year LLB student
on the coming 3 Jan 2011.

Life has been really busy,
Although there are some fun here and there
It makes a worthwhile journey in my life.
I feel I'm more into the real world
Abandoning the fantasy of childish dream
Stepping my foot to the adult world,
Soon, but not yet,
I would need to absorb more nutrients
to grow and to shine.

My lecturers are nice.
They're really experienced
And some are amazing!
I remember the first day of my class
It was the Public Law Lecture,
Taught by Ms Diana,
who is very sweet and friendly
Although at time
She would not be found
Vanish mysteriously.
Being a barrister from the UK Inn,
I have no doubt for her knowlege
and it proves to be true
And I will be seeing her next year
The Law of Tort!
Pharell and Ms Diana

My Contract Law Lecturer- Mr Kumar
is the second lecturer I met
the second day of my class.
He appears to be hilarious
And REALLY helpful during exam revision

The third day of my class
I met Ms. Puvan,
my lecturer for Criminal Law
the real Lady of Lex
Her class is the most stressful one
But the outcome is fruitful
She earns our heartful respect!
She has taught us very well,
Prepared us very well, too!
The things she left to us,
besides the knowledge,
"Cimb Bank".... " Notsosmart"
Regrettably she would not teach us next year.

CLR is complicated and I would not comment on it
You know it,
I know it,
They dont know?
It's ok not to know!
For your own sake
and my own sake!

Fortunately,
I enrolled into the April Intake,
as the class size is relatively small
Enabling the lecturers to concentrate
On each and every of us.
Friends I've met are really helpful
It's not the feel of competition,
But really the feel of friends helping each other.

And thanks to all my friends-
Chelsea, Jassmine, Princess Sally, Pharell Han Yin
Who have gone through the uphill and downpit of my life
Sincerely hope that we could go to the same Uni in UK!
Love all of you! Muackss!!
Although it's just a short nine months,
But we have gone through a lot together.
The Law is never a dull and boring subject (quoted Ms Jackie)

Last but not least,
I'd like to clarify a few points!

1. Law is not about memorising everything. It's meaningless to regurgitate everything out as this even a 4 year old kid could do so!

2. Law is not all written in book form. And please do not spread that we need to remember which sections say this and which statutes say that!

3. We're not memorising machine! We apply our knowledge similar to science subjects too!

4. Law students, if your friends ask you "Eh, you study law ah? A lot to memorise ho?", please and please dont just say "yes" as by doing so you're misrepresenting the real fact to the others! Of course I could not do anything if you insist to do so, you have the rights to do so. Fair enough!
